Today I caught a gander of the World Electronic Music Festival poster on my way to work. I saw that John “00″ Flemming was headlining one of the stages and my interest was piqued. Upon visiting the official site (http://www.wemf.com) I was blessed with awesome DnB (”Nero” by Reqiuim) and some mind-blowing lineups. The Hardsound stage has DJ Neophyte (ZOMG), and the DnB stage has Grooverider along with the laundry list of awesome DJs on the other stages. I was in love.
Then reality hit. At $75 (if you get tickets before July 2) per person for 3 days (including a camping spot), it’s a bit steep. The other major problem is that it occurs on Wednesday-Thursday-Friday instead of the standard Friday-Saturday-Sunday Okay, I am HURRtastic today… I was looking at the calendar for June. The festival takes place on the Friday-Saturday-Sunday. That’s a big Boo-urns. It also occurs the week *after* I go to my parents cottage for a week, which kills any possibility of time off for me.
So I’ll console myself with DnB and plan on going to some local outdoor shows (if they are still happening, that is.)
It’s worth visiting the WEMF page just to listen to track 2 (The music controls are in the top left hand side of the screen after the splash page) as it kicks ass.
