First off, Many thanks to
sardonyx for picking up tickets and basically doing all the arranging for us going to see Warren.
The evening was great. He started off with a prepared reading on writing, which was quite humorous and very intriguing. He is a very smart man. After he finished his prepared speech, he went for a smoke.
Afterwards was Q&A. Snippets gleaned from it: the Global Frequency TV show isn't dead, but he's not allowed to talk about what's going on. There could be another Global Frequency run in the future, but instead of being 12 one shot issues, it would be one epic story. I asked him if the internet has made it easier for ideas to ferment in his brain, or just given him overload, and he was quite quick to say that the internet has made it a million times easier for him. He doesn't have to go to the library and photocopy everything that interests him... he just has to bookmark it, or copy the text and put in in a text file.
After the Q&A was done (at around 11:00... the evening started at around 9:00) everyone got up to leave.
( And I got this... )Afterwards, I had a voicemail message from a party (who shall remain nameless) saying that I had to come to Velvet when I was done... I had no choice in the matter. So
sardonyx and I walk from Bloor down to Queen and go to Velvet. No one's there. Finally
cirhosis shows up and says that other people aren't coming. So I stayed a couple minutes and chatted and then left.
Okay... oddness. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning, sitting on the couch still dressed and (as I found out later) still with my contacts in. I have no reccollection of falling asleep there, or of
iolarah leaving. Boy are my eyes sore this morning.
So yeah. That's about it.
