I have solved my RAM woes on my WIN2K box!
Aparently one of my 256mb DIMMS was only showing up as 128mb, thus throwing my total amount of installed RAM off. So I ended up pulling DIMMS out one by one and checking what the BIOS was reporting them as. When I got to the misrepresented one, I suddenly knew what I had to do.
I got my brother to test the "bad" 256mb DIMM in his computer to see what it came up as. As I hoped, it showed up as 256mb, so I got him to swap it for one of his existing DIMMS. So now I have 768mb of RAM.
I also managed to snag a power "Y" splitter, so I hooked my CD-ROM back up (it's been without power since I installed the new 80gb drive).
So that has been my exciting night! HOORAY!
