One of my favorite Soundgarden tracks isn't actually a Soundgarden track, and it wasn't available on an album.

Stray Cat Blues (Originally by The Rolling Stones) appeared as track two, side 1 on the Jesus Christ Pose single. The single is/was available on the limited edition version of Badmotorfinger (the second CD was called "Satanoscillatemymetallicsonatas" or SOMMS), but I never owned that version of the album.

So it wasn't till [livejournal.com profile] iolarah surprised me with the Jesus Christ Pose single on vinyl that I heard it (this would be last year). I dig the hell out of it :D

I'm not normally a Stones fan, but the cover is great :D

I don't know why, but I really think [livejournal.com profile] ravensee needs to hear this track :)

Today I caught a gander of the World Electronic Music Festival poster on my way to work. I saw that John “00″ Flemming was headlining one of the stages and my interest was piqued. Upon visiting the official site (http://www.wemf.com) I was blessed with awesome DnB (”Nero” by Reqiuim) and some mind-blowing lineups. The Hardsound stage has DJ Neophyte (ZOMG), and the DnB stage has Grooverider along with the laundry list of awesome DJs on the other stages. I was in love.

Then reality hit. At $75 (if you get tickets before July 2) per person for 3 days (including a camping spot), it’s a bit steep. The other major problem is that it occurs on Wednesday-Thursday-Friday instead of the standard Friday-Saturday-Sunday Okay, I am HURRtastic today… I was looking at the calendar for June. The festival takes place on the Friday-Saturday-Sunday. That’s a big Boo-urns. It also occurs the week *after* I go to my parents cottage for a week, which kills any possibility of time off for me.

So I’ll console myself with DnB and plan on going to some local outdoor shows (if they are still happening, that is.)

It’s worth visiting the WEMF page just to listen to track 2 (The music controls are in the top left hand side of the screen after the splash page) as it kicks ass.

Nine Inch Nails - Only (video)

Well worth checking out. The music is "meh" but the video is "Rock!"

Last night [livejournal.com profile] iolarah and I watched the Global Frequency pilot (Based on Warren Ellis' comic of the same name) that has been leaked onto the internet. I hope that some brave network picks it up, because it's damned good!

Last night was also the first real test of the Scummbox Radio system. I installed Winamp 5.09 on the livingroom computer, dropped the icecast stream quality sightly, queued up a couple fun songs, and off we go! The stream and web controls both worked flawlessly! It was fun sitting on the futon watching full screen visualizations to Aphex Twin and µ-ziq :D The playlist interface needs some tweaking, as the TV is running at 640x480, but that's just windowdressing.

All and all it was a good night.

Last night at the ZooHauseDerLounge was awesome. I totally dug the D&B in the backroom. Conversly, I couldn't care about what DJ Phink was spinning in the front room.

I had fun hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] iolarah and [livejournal.com profile] lojak. I declare it to be Good Thursday Night Fun [tm]

Back to work with me!

Yesterday night was great right up to the point where [livejournal.com profile] iolarah, [livejournal.com profile] saucyvixen, [livejournal.com profile] _rivethead_ and I realized we were dead tired at 11pm.

Apologies go out to [livejournal.com profile] margrock and [livejournal.com profile] endeneu as we DID have every intention of coming back downtown and hanging out.

Today will be Getting [livejournal.com profile] iolarah New Knitting Needles day.

Also: I'm going to listen to a stupid amount of L7. See the subject on who to blame for that :)

I would like you to guess who has the Singin' In The Rain remix used in the now-infamous VW Golf GTI ad!
